Phosphatidylserine (PS)

What Is Phosphatidylserine?

Phosphatidylserine is  natural ingredient found in some of the better nootropic is an ‘orthomolecule’ that is naturally present in every cell in the body…. It provides benefits to all aspects of brain health18805866-Phosphatidylserine-PS-cell-membrane-building-block-molecular-model-PS-is-also-important-in-apoptosis-Stock-Photo

One of the most researched brain nutrients, Phosphatidylserine ( a.k.a PS) helps to boost brain health, memory support and cognitive function..

Phosphatidylserine is found throughout the body, but it is in the brain that it is present in the most concentration…here it helps many tasks that are crucial to brain function, memory and clarity.

Creates Brain Cells – using process known as asneurogenesis, the brain regenerates neurons…PS is the key material used in this process

Energises Memory Function – PS is proven to boost the brains energy levels, helping to boost peak mental performance

Communication Between Brain Cells – each and every though depends on inter cellular communication.. PS speeds this process, enabling thoughts and memory to be transmitted quickly and efficiently

Clears Fogginess – when our brain cells shut down, they become toxic, causing mental fog and possible confusion…

PS helps the body to clear these dead brain cells away before they become toxic, this stops the toxicity spreading to more healthy cells….

Safe Or Recommended Doses

The recommended dose is 50mg per serving…. there are cases when even larger doses of up to 400mg can be effective, however, there are reports that doses over 300mg can result in cases of insomnia or stomach upset..

Studies Involving Phosphatidylserine

There have a great deal of studies (over 30 –) involving Phosphatidylserine, Some studies stood out to us:

Scientists followed 51 people aged between 55 and 75 over a period of 12 weeks…. half were given a placebo and the test half were given 300mg of Phosphatidylserine daily..

The half of the group receiving the Phosphatidylserine reported greatly improved memory, moods and general cognitive function..

Another study featuring 18 athletes that were each given 400mg of Phosphatidylserine per day for 14 days..

The results were impressive with the test subjects showing an improvement in the speed of calculations of 20% and overall a 39% improvement in accuracy

Other studies have shown great effects in the treatment of children with ADHD.

Another study (read it here – )showed a definite improvement in golfers abilities to hit the golf ball straight off from the tee after supplementing with PS.

PS in supplement form can be found from many sources.. Bovine, Soy, Krill and even from Sunflower sourced Lecithin.. from our research, out of all the studies that we have read…we have determined that Lecithin (Sunflower) based PS in particular has shown very stable and conclusive results...

Overall the use of PS as a nootropic supplement has shown a great deal of positive effects quite across the board…. from the young with issues such as ADHT, through to students trying to maximising their studies, along with athletes trying to maintain focus and performance as well as older patients suffering the early stages of alzheimers disease..
