Provasil Review – Is It An Effective Nootropic?
I Check Out Provasil And its Claimed Effects..
The workplace in general is now getting so fast paced that it’s increasingly hard to keep one step ahead of the competition, your bosses and your work colleagues… ever changing targets, and the associated stress that these cause makes it really hard to remain focussed on your job…. when you get home at night, its all too easy to let the stress of the day and lack of focus affect your home life too..
You (hopefully) eat a good diet and try to keep your self physically fit, but what about your mental fitness – you know, getting that mental ‘edge’ that you need in todays hectic world…. What can you do about that??
Nootropics are a group of supplements that can help….and Provasil from the US is one of those products that claims that it can do just that….it’s makers claim that it can help reduce the effects of age related cognitive decline as well as helping to boost focus, concentration and memory in virtually anybody of any age…
I decided to take a good look and see for myself.
The Formula In Provasil
Ingredients are king…. You need to have both the right compounds in your formula, and the right amounts of them in each serving..
Top marks to the makers of Provasil.. they fully detail and disclose the various ingredients in the mix….So many manufacturers prefer to hide their actual formula behind those annoying proprietary blends – leaving their users in the dark about exactly what they are taking..
Each serving of Provasil contains:
- Vitamin C 300mg
- Folic Acid 600mcg
- Vitamin B12 300mcg
- Biotin 150mcg
- Choline Bitartrate 150mg
- L-Tyrosine 100mg
- N-Acetyl-L-Carnitine 100mg
- Bacopa 100mg
- Ginkgo 60mg
- Phosphatidylserine 50mg
- L-Glutamine 45mg
- Phosphatidycholine 30mg
- Asian Ginseng 30mg
- Resveratrol 25mg
- DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid) 5mg
How To Take Provasil
The suggested dose is 2 capsules daily – take in the morning with food (not on an empty stomach)
I personally bought a bottle of Provasil to try… I ordered from the official website, but you can also buy from amazon…
After I started taking it… It took about 2 days before I started to feel something.. nothing too noticeable but I definitely felt and though a little clearer about things….so I felt really encouraged.. (The fact is that I have tried many nootropics, but very few actually deliver results that I was actually conscious of.).
Then It Went Down Hill…
After the initial feelings ( which lasted 2 or maybe 3 days i guess) It all started to wear off and then after that I didn’t feel anything….not a jot..
It did not make me feel more focussed or creative, neither did it boost my memory or my concentration…
Quite the opposite.. after my initial and short lived encouragement, I actually felt quite let down….
I must say right here that just because my results were short lived it doesn’t mean that everybody will be the same… (Although I have to say that other users have reported experiencing the same short lived effects as I did) but I just felt that it wasn’t strong enough or something was wrong with the formula…
Any Reported Side Effects
I didn’t experience any adverse reactions ( aside from feelings of disappointment) and to date, I have not uncovered any other reports of any side effects.
I have to say that my research uncovered a worrying report on one of the ingredients… it made me wish I hadn’t even tried it….(see ‘my thoughts’ below)
Where To Buy Provasil
You can buy from the official website as well as Amazon the official website does seem to be the best place to buy – I paid $49.95 when i bought direct… I have seen it on Amazon for up to $79..
Any Cash Back Guarantee?
The makers offer a 60 day cash back guarantee when you buy from the official website….
At first glance I thought that this one was going to be good, and for the initial few days, I was happy… then with the effects totally disappearing I realised that something in the formula must be wrong…. Its hard to put a finger on exactly whats wrong with this one, but certainly some of the forms of ingredients are ones that are cheaper and potentially weaker… Taking L-Tyrosine as one example… the form used is actually a weak and cheap version…. you get far better results by using N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine (aka NALT) its more bio available and is known to be more effective…
I was also concerned about the inclusion of Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) in the formula… its not a recognised nootropic ingredient for a start and I discovered that it is linked to some adverse and unpleasant problems that can include:
- Increased Bruising
- Prolonged Bleeding
- Loose stools
- irregular Blood Pressure
It can also affect your breathing if you are sensitive to aspirin and anybody with type 2 diabetes should never take it as it can affect blood sugar levels…

After Discovering This, I Wish I Had Never Taken It!!
