Powerfocus Nootropic Review
Claiming To be The #1 Nootropic Supplement, But Just How Good Is Powerfocus?
Powerfocus is a naturally formulated nootropic supplement made by UK based Brainpower Nootropics… its makers claim that it is the #1 essential nootropic for (they claim) students, the elderly and entrepreneurs, and that it offers users tremendous boosts in memory, focus and concentration
Claiming to offer the highest active dose ( 3 x) of any nootropic currently available it delivers ( we are told) exactly what your brain needs in the right quantities.
Containing a fully disclosed blend of natural ingredients, PowerFocus certainly “Talks the Talk”, but can it “Walk the Walk??”
I have taken a really in depth look at this supplement and here are my findings…

How To Take Powerfocus
The daily serving is 2 capsules.. you can choose to take together or spaced apart… the makers tell us that for maximum effect its best to take together, but they kind of leave it up to you, how you take…. just always take with water..
Available on Amazon, there are lots of positive reviews, however many are written by people who openly admit to have been given the supplement at reduced price or even for FREE in turn for a review… its hard to take these sort of reviews seriously as you never really know just how honest and open these users are being..
There are some negative reviews too that are from more independent users.. and it’s my gut feeling that these are likely to be more accurate…..
Any Reported Side Effects
One user found that the capsules tasted (i quote) “horrid”, I have not found any written reports of any other issues, although from a personal opinion, this product is packed with so many stimulants that it is very likely to cause problems with the shakes, jitters and even possibly disturb sleep in anybody with an intolerance to caffeine and the like

Where To Buy Powerfocus
Amazon are a key supplier… In the UK a months supply currently costs £34.49 which works out at just over USD $50 at time of writing…
There doesn’t appear to be any cash back protection available with this product, so its apparently a case of pay your money and take your chances
There is no doubt in my mind that there are some really good and approved nootropic ingredients in this product…. there are also at least three different types of stimulants in the mix too. These are often used to trick the users into thinking that the product is working, when all they are feeling is the “caffeine hit” that you would get after drinking a cup of strong coffee..
I personally do not like products that rely on stimulants, they can (in some cases) cause the jitters, headaches and sleeplessness in some users..
Whats more Citrus Aurantium ( aka Bitter Orange) is often found in fat burning (diet) supplements… it was brought in by many manufacturers as a direct replacement for the now banned diet ingredient Ephedra, which was linked to some really unpleasant side effects which led to it being banned by many health authorities… Citrus Aurantium has only really been tested to any level on laboratory animals, it lacks any real solid human testing and some experts strongly believe that it’s likely to cause the exact same side effects that got Ephedra banned in the first place…
“Personally I would never touch anything that contained Citrus Aurantium”
Cramming over 20 ingredients into a small (size 00) capsule is no mean feat and the sad facts are that it’s virtually impossible to get enough of the key ingredients (over 20) into a serving of 2 capsules for it to be strong enough to have any real effect…. it’s my thought and belief that Powerfocus is actually quite weak and underpowered.. not because of their choice of ingredients, rather that there is only small amounts of each key ingredient in each serving…
‘Personally after reading the independent comment above, I too would like to see a CoA (certificate of analysis) that confirms the precise dosage as there are concerns about wether the capsules actually do contain the amount claimed….’
Finally they use a product called HPMC in their capsules… this is a semi-synthetic polymer that is used in various applications… these include*:
- Tile Adhesives
- Cement Renders
- Gypsum Products
- Paints and Coatings
- Eye Drops
- Contact Lenses
- As a Gluten Substitute in Bread Making
- Delaying Coating On Tablets And Capsules..

I also prefer to use supplements that use natural, plant based capsules… they cost a little more but are far better for the body and are suitable for anybody… Vegetarians, Vegans, anyone with food allergies etc…
Might provide Some Mild Effects – But Not Good Enough In My Opinion..
