Optimind Vs Alpha Brain

Alpha Brain Or Optimind – Which Is Best?

Today I am comparing two of the best known nootropics out there…. Optimind and Alpha Brain.

Both are well established and have a large number of regular users worldwide…

Claimed Benefits

Both Optimind and Alpha Brain make similar claims in that they promise the user improvements in Memory, Focus, Concentration and Creativity

The Formulas

Optimind contains a largely unspecified formula ( they tell us whats in it, just not how much of everything is in each serving)

In the formula you will find unspecified amounts of:Alpha_BRAIN®___Onnit4

  • Gaba
  • Alpha Lipoic Acid
  • Huperzine A
  • Caffeine
  • Vinpocerine
  • DMAE
  • Vitamins D, B6 and B12
  • Bacopa Monnieri
  • Green Tea Extract

Alpha Brain is made up of no less than 3 undisclosed proprietary blends – as with Optimind the makers are open about whats in the mix, but prefer to keep the actual dosage to themselves.

Each serving includes:

  • Vitamin B6
  • L-Tyrosine
  • L-Theanine
  • Oatstraw
  • Phosphatidyserine
  • Alpha GPC
  • Bacopa
  • Huperzine A
  • L-Leucine
  • Vinpocetine
  • Pterostilbene

Taking Optimind and Alpha Brain

Alpha Brain should be taken at the amount of 1-2 capsules every morning with food and water… Any users over 200lbs can increase the dose to 3 capsules

Optimind should also be taken at 2 capsules per day, although the makers do suggest taking 1 per day for a few days to check tolerance… The makers do not give a maximum dose and actually suggest that you experiment to find a dose that suits you and your requirements..

Reported Side Effects

There have been some reports of the shakes or jitters from some users taking Optimind – no doubt due to the caffeine content in the mix

Alpha Brain users have reported no real side effects at all

Where To Buy

You can order both products from their respective websites, Alpha Brain costs from $34.95 for a 2 week supply..

Optimind costs from $43.21 for a full months supply, they also offer a free trial, auto ship program

Cash Back Guarantees

I was not able to uncover any information about a guarantee offered by Optimind.. Alpha Brain is sold with a 30 day cash back guarantee/return policy

My Thoughts

On paper both products seem to offer similar benefits and they do both use some tried and tested nootropic ingredients, but I am perplexed by both manufacturer’s decision to withhold crucial information about the actual doses of each key ingredient in their formulas, it does make you wonder if there is actually enough of any of the components in either product to provide any real long term nootropic effects…

Out of the two I am leaning towards Alpha Brain as my favourite out of these two supplements.. largely because Optimind contains caffeine – a stimulant that can effect some users ( as the side effects reveal), also, many companies use stimulants because they give users the feeling/sensation that the product is working, when in truth, you could get the same hit from a simple cup of coffee..

I am also not a great fan of auto ship programs – something also used by Optimind..

Alpha Brain looks the cheaper of the two, but take note that the product is sold in packs contain 2 weeks supply – not a months supply as many products are (including Optimind)..so it does actually work out slightly more expensive.. It does however offer a 30 day guarantee, where as Optimind doesn’t appear to..

My Conclusion

I have no doubts that either Optimind or Alpha Brain could offer some mild, short term nootropic benefits to some users, but with the lack of crucial information about the dosage 2015-08-29 11.20.35etc, I would personally look elsewhere…

One product I do strongly recommend is Mind Lab Pro.. it offers buyers a very well researched and cleverly developed formula that is fully disclosed….User reviews are all highly positive, and I can personally report from my own experiences when taking it that its effects are very noticeable and more importantly long lasting…
