What is Focus Mode Used For?
Focus Mode is designed to help by boosting:
- Mental Focus
In other words, Focus Mode is designed to help you work, study, train and even play games.
The Formula In Focus Mode
Its formula is fully disclosed, and is built around the natural stimulant Guarana. It contains a blend of (I have to say) quite decent ingredients, that certainly look like they will provide you with a decent energy boost.
If it works as the makers claim, you should be able to enjoy some improved productivity, and a very welcome increase in performance.
Each Serving Includes:
- Guarana Seed Extract 340mg
- N-Acetyl Tyrosine 200mg
- Alpha GPC 200mg
- L-Theanine 200mg
- Mucuna Pruriens 150mg
- Phosphatidylserine 100mg
- Huperzine Serrata 20mg
The Formula In More Depth
A natural and powerful source of caffeine, thought to boost energy levels, endurance and focus
A product of the amino acid L-Tyrosine, it is known to be a precursor for the release of hormones that include Dopamine, Epinephrine and Noepinephrine.
They can help reduce the effects of stress and the effects of sleeplessness etc
A tried and tested nootropic ingredient that has been shown to boost cognitive function. Also thought to help slow down the onset of age related cognitive decline.
Thought to help alleviate the effects of stress, and helps you to relax. It works particularly well with caffeine.
AKA Velvet Bean, this ingredient is more commonly found in male supplements that are used to boost libido. It is a precursor for dopamine which can help boost focus, concentration and general drive.
An amino acid naturally found in the brain, thought to play a crucial part in supporting general cognitive function
AKA Huperzine A, it is an extract taken from Clubmoss, a plant with natural acetylcholinesterase inhibiting benefits. Supports Concentration and focus.
Overall, the formula is a rather unusual mix of ingredients that could help boost energy, focus, motivation and help relieve stress.
Directions For Taking Focus Mode
The suggests serving is 2 capsules per day.
The makers suggest taking it before breakfast.
It is not recommended that you take it within 4 hours of going to bed because the amount of Guarana (a caffeine type stimulant) in the mix could disrupt your sleep.
It has to be said that the majority of users testimonials on line are largely positive. Here are a few that I found:
Reported Side Effects
There are some reports of people experiencing the shakes, jitters and problems sleeping, even when taking as directed.
This is without doubt due to the potent level of stimulants (particlular Guarana) in the mix.
“This Will Not Suit Everybody – Particularly Those Who Cannot Tolerate Stimulants”
Where Can I Buy Focus Mode
It is s available from amazon and other main online suppliers. Expect to pay around $30 for a months supply
Any Cash Back Guarantee
There does not appear to be any guarantee provided by the manufacturers.
Depending on where you buy, the retailer may have their own return and refund policies, but these will only usually apply to unopened products.
This generally means that if you buy and actually try Focus Mode, you will not be able to get your money back if you are unhappy with it.
Now is this product a pre workout supplement or a nootropic? I am not a fan of products that claim to do two or more things, usually they are weakly, or poorly formulated.
I am not convinced by the use of such a powerful stimulant like Guarana. Its not going to suit everybody.
What stimulants do is give you that energy rush like you experience when you drink strong coffee or a caffeine packed energy drink.
These effects, however, are often short lived and tend to end up with the user suffering an energy ‘crash’ as the effects wear off.
Manufacturers also put them in products to give buyers the ‘feeling’ that the product is actually working – It kinds misleads people, and i personally don’t like it.
The inclusion of Huperzine Serrata also concerns me.
Many reliable supplement manufacturers have actually removed it from their products over the past year.
There is no doubt that its a great nootropic ingredient.
There are however, concerns growing about its detrimental effects on the brain when taken in the long term.
Its now recommended that you stop taking it after 8 weeks and rest for 2-4 weeks before starting again.
Nootropics are designed to be taken regularly to maintain their benefits, you don’t want to keep stopping taking it after several weeks to give your body a rest.
So Is Focus Mode Worth Taking ?
As a preworkout, there is no reason why it will not give you that boost of energy you want in the gym, it might also help improve your focus somewhat.
But I wouldn’t take it, the use of a powerful stimulant like Guarana to give you the feeling that its doing something, (and the fact that many people will find it too much for them), and the questions and health concerns surrounding Huperzine Serrata.
Both raise red flags to me.
I Personally Wouldn’t Recommend it.
